Urbana City Schools celebrated two outstanding former Urbana High School athletes Friday evening as Diana Johnson, Class of 1977, and Jeff Rogan, Class of 1983, were inducted into the George Scott Ring of Honor.

Johnson was a standout three-sport athlete in volleyball, basketball and tennis. A two-time volleyball and basketball MVP, she helped lead the 1976 volleyball team to a State Championship. Because Urbana did not have a girls' tennis team at the time, Johnson competed on the boys' team, compiling an impressive 57-9 career record.

Rogan established himself as one of Urbana’s most accomplished football players, helping lead the team to four CBC championships while rushing for 5,985 career yards and 89 touchdowns. His historic 1982 season included 2,413 rushing yards and an Ohio single-season record for touchdowns. He was named the 1982 All-Ohio Back of the Year and also excelled in track and field, where he continues to hold Urbana records in the 200- and 400-meter dashes.
