Sixth grade students in Ms. Marsh’s Computer Science Discoveries classroom are putting their coding skills to work through a unit on Interactive Animations and Games.

Using basic starter code, students are creating their own scenes by applying skills they have learned throughout the course. They are experimenting with shapes, background and fill colors, outlines, line thickness, and points to bring their ideas to life.

This hands-on project encourages students to think creatively, solve problems, and apply computational thinking as they learn how code can be used to create digital experiences.

At Urbana City Schools, students are building important technology skills while exploring new ways to design, create, and innovate.
