DECA

On October 22, 60 UHS DECA members traveled to Dayton for their first competition of the season. 36 of these students placed within the top 5 of their competitive event - setting a new chapter record.

At this competition, students competed amongst other Ohio DECA District 4 chapters - including Beavercreek, Centerville, Fairmont, Graham, Northmont, Northridge, Triad, Trotwood-Madison, and Xenia. The competition consisted of 3 types of events - principles, series, and team decision making. In principles and series events, students are given 10 minutes to review a case study scenario and prepare a presentation for their judge while teams are given 17 minutes. Then, students take their preparations in front of a judge and have 8 minutes to present their solution to the case.
