French

Urbana City Schools College Credit Plus (CCP) students recently attended Immersion Day at Wright State University, joining approximately 175 students from area high schools for a day focused on language and culture.

Students pledged to speak only French throughout the event, putting their language skills into practice through activities centered on this year’s theme: Paris.

The day included mini cultural units, trivia games, a museum scavenger hunt, and a dance. Students also enjoyed lunch from Dorothy Lane Market while continuing to engage with the day’s activities.

Throughout the event, Urbana students worked with all four Wright State University professors and interacted with university students studying French, as well as peers from other area high schools. These experiences provided opportunities to practice conversation, explore French culture, and connect with others who share an interest in language learning.

The event gave Urbana’s CCP students an opportunity to extend their classroom learning through hands-on activities and real-world language practice.
