Urbana High School chemistry students recently visited Wright State University to participate in several laboratory activities and learn more about the university. After receiving safety goggles and lab coats, students rotated through three lab sessions: electrochemical water quality testing to identify small concentrations of heavy metals, general water quality testing, and polymers.
Following the demonstrations, students had lunch provided by Wright State’s Chemistry Department and attended a brief presentation from Wright State Admissions. Students also received informational materials about the university and other items to take home. Feedback from students was positive, and the visit provided an opportunity to experience college-level laboratory activities and learn more about Wright State University.
