Dr. Julie Willoughby Named 2025
OAESA Outstanding Central Office Administrator
The Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators (OAESA) announced that
Dr. Julie Willoughby, Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Urbana City Schools, was selected as
the 2025 OAESA Outstanding Central Office Administrator. This marks the third year that OAESA has
recognized a central office administrator with this award.
“Dr. Willoughby was nominated and selected by fellow OAESA members through a statewide search
conducted by OAESA,” said Dr. Becky Hornberger, OAESA Executive Director. The selection process
included an extensive application and interviews from a team of colleagues.
Criteria for selection of the award require that the honoree be an active administrator in schools
where programs are designed to meet the academic and social needs of all students and where there
are firmly established community ties with parents and local business organizations.
Dr. Becky Hornberger, OAESA Executive Director, attended the April 23rd Urbana City Schools Board
meeting to present a certificate of this achievement. Dr. Willoughby will be recognized by her school
community during OAESA’s awards celebration this June 16th at the OAESA Professional Conference
and Tradeshow at the Hilton Easton in Columbus, Ohio. Along with the recognition, Urbana City
Schools will receive a $500 award, which Dr. Willoughby has determined will be divided among the
three principals’ accounts and used to benefit students at each school.
